70 Years of Royal Weddings
Royal weddings are always extremely special occasions and over the last 70 years we have celebrated some fantastic weddings. This infographic from Valentina Fine Diamonds takes you through a selection from that period beginning with the amazing wedding of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. The couple became engaged in 1946 but didn’t actually make their engagement public knowledge until Elizabeth turned 21 in April 1947.
In Europe, there are have been some fantastic occasions to celebrate over the years. The marriage of Princess Margrethe and Prince Henrik includes a fantastic story of how they met. Henrik hadn’t wanted to meet her at a dinner party as he assumed she would be boring but when he arrived, he found her fascinating.
In more recent times, we had the wonderful wedding between Kate Middleton and Prince William in April 2011. They met when they were both students at a college in Scotland.
