Today is a great day to consider champagne cocktails for your wedding reception. Cruise around the web and see what strikes you as tasty, beautiful, and easy to make. Here are a few straightforward recipes that only take a little effort.
The easiest and charming is first on my list.
Forever Poinsettia Champagne Cocktail
You need a favorite champagne, cranberry juice, and for a little extra something special, an orange liqueur.
In each flute, add:
- 1/2 ounce orange liqueur
- 3 ounces cranberry juice
- 3 ounces champagne
Garnish with some frozen cranberries and/or a curly-cue of orange rind.
TIP: CHILL ALL INGREDIENTS AND GLASSES BEFOREHAND.
Ernest Hemingway’s Serious Champagne Cocktail
You will need brut champagne and ouzo or Pernod (any anise flavored liqueur). In each chilled flut, add:
- 1 1/2 ounces ouzo, Pernod, or other licorice/anise flavored liqueur.
- 4 ounces brut champagne
Special Delivery Champagne Cocktail
You will need golden rum, lime juice, honey and brut champagne for this one. You will also need a chilled cocktail shaker with cracked ice.
In the chilled cocktail shaker filled with cracked ice add:
- 2 ounce golden rum
- 1/2 ounces lime juice
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 5 ounces brut champagne
TIP: This is for smaller, more intimate gatherings, but for large scale consider having a poinsettia fountain or other champagne fountain as well as punch.
Welcome to Margaritaville Champagne Cocktail
For this you will need fresh squeezed lime, silver tequila, orange liqueur, champagne, lime wedges, and salt. This is made by the pitcher so this would be great for a small or larger wedding.
In each large pitcher, add:
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
- 1 cup of silve tequila
- 1/2 cup orange liqueur
- 3 cups of champagne
Combine all the ingredients in the large pitcher and stir.
For the glass:
- run lime wedges around rim and dip in coarse salt
- garnish with a lime wedge or a curly-cue of lime rind
Cheers! to your most beautiful of occasion!
