Pro make-up artist Beauty tips and tricks for a DIY flawless face…

Ariel Lewis owner of Airbrush Makeup By Ariel a DC based makeup and hair studio. Has put together some bridal beauty makeup tips for a flawless airbrushed skin look …

Start off with a clean face. The #1 most important and often under valued
step in perfect bridal make-up is the condition of your skin.

Your make-up artist will be able to create a much smoother and flawless look
if you have zero makeup residue from the night before. Take the time to use
an eye make-up remover in addition to washing your face with a make up
cleanser. My #1 favorite make- up remover towelettes are by Neutrogena.

Do not go and get a facial 1 week before your Big day (especially if your
skin is not accustomed to them). Ariel recommends getting a facial 3 weeks
prior so that all of the blemishes have time to work their way up to the
surface following the facial treatment and can then be dried using a “spot
treatment” such as Burt’s Bees (Salic acid spot treatment).

It’s worth it to invest in a good under eye cream. Bobbi Brown’s hydrating
eye cream is one of my favorite products. You don’t want to start using
serums before you have to so don’t get talked into them. The Drug store
equivalent to Bobbi Brown’s hydrating eye cream would be Neutrogena’s daily
under eye cream.

If you’re doing your own make-up … make sure that your foundation 100%
matches your skin. It’s worth it to get a good HD foundation something like
Make-up Forever or NARS oil free finish is ideal. The reason HD make-up is so
important for a bridal beauty look is because of all of the high flash
photography that will be taking place throughout the day. The last thing you
want is bright white orbs in the center of your face showing up in all of
your pictures. Using a regular luminous foundation formula or BB cream will
create these looks inevitably as the night goes on. This is why airbrush
makeup is such a favorite technique for celebrity make-up artists. If you
can’t splurge for airbrush makeup HD make up is the next best thing.

A very important tip to mention when applying foundation is: get the right brush. Do not use a traditional foundation brush. Instead Ariel recommends using a stippling brush with synthetic white bristles. This circular shaped brush is full proof! It will never leave foundation streaks as long as it’s applied in small circular motions over the whole face.

Next it’s very important that you play up your cheekbones, contouring can be
done simply by adding bronzer (preferably matte not shimmer) Ariel s favorite
product is Bobbi Brown medium #2 bronzer.
Suck in your cheeks as you apply the bronzer from the outside temple inwards towards the apple of your cheek. Sweep some over your forehead also.

Last but not least! The right blush hue can really brighten the face and bring the bridal look together. NARS madly is perfect for fair skin. Ski slopes by Bobbi Brown is beautiful on most light to medium complexions. NARS Thari is the best for olive tan tones to darker and deeper complexions.
