As we’ve talked about, we’re focusing a lot on colors of taupe and teal with accents of pink thrown in. These colors add a bit of a vintage feel and have roots in the 1920s era. Along with these, I love the idea of throwing glitter around as well! Glitter shows up on both the bridal gown and bridesmaid dress, and it’s about to show up here!
Planning on having little snacks for your guests? What better way to show off your 1920s vibe than with some blitzed-out cake pops?
I found this on a flickr account. While the bakery responsible for these little treasures is not located in Virginia, any one of our wonderful local bakeries could easily make these for your big day (and maybe add a dash of their own magic!) Or, if you’re a DIY bride, you can always buy a cake pop maker and some sprinkles and go to town!
And how about some decorations? We used a lot of feathers in the accessories in the other styles, so I love the idea of keeping that going! How about this perfect centerpiece?
This was featured on Elizabeth Anne Design’s blog. I love these centerpieces, although they are very formal. I love the idea of going with the same idea on a smaller scale. Less feathers, keep the pearls and maybe intersperse them with some candles to set off a mood! I might consider throwing some flowers in there as well in your wedding colors!
Of course, you’re also going to need a cake. There are so many directions you could go with the cake, but I personally like this idea:
This was done by Connie Cupcakes located in Canada. If you like this cake, you can always use it as inspiration for one of Virginia’s fantastic bakers! I love the beads on this cake and all of the little details that really tie together. The add-ons go really well with the accessories from the bridal and bridesmaid styles as well!
I think one great place to consider having your wedding is the Regency at Dominion Valley, located in Haymarket.
This venue offers a lot of water views, perfect for a Gatsby wedding considering that it was a body of water separating Gatsby and Daisy’s houses. The building is also huge and beautiful, and will look amazing in your photos! This venue also offers to help with the rest of your vendors to make your wedding day as perfect as possible!
Consider adding even more little touches, such as having a jazz band play during your cocktail hour. Learn how to do the Charleston. And remember: a Gatsby party never stops!
Next week, I’ll be back with a brand new style inspiration. However, this time will be a little different! It will begin with the ceremony and reception and work its way to the bridal look! Make sure to keep reading, and if you’re interested, check out some of Virginia Bride’s upcoming bridal shows in Charlottesville and Roanoke!
