“Say you’ll love me every waking moment. Turn my head with talk of summertime. Say you need me with you now and always. Promise me that you say is true. That’s all I ask of you.”
Definitely one of my favorite love songs from a musical. (After “Come What May” from Moulin Rouge. Who wants a style on that one?). I found Phantom of the Opera on Netflix this week, and had to watch it again. It’s such a great movie, and I still love every song from it and have been singing them all week.
A wedding based on this movie would be so beautiful and elegant. The main colors should be rose red and black, with of course pops of white (that’s where the bride comes in!).
First, you need to get your guests there. I love these invitations! It fits our color scheme, it has the Phantom mask, and I love the burned edges look. Your guests will immediately get the feel for your theme and appreciate the special touches. This picture is from Etsy.
You can’t have a Phantom of the Opera themed wedding without lots of candles. I love the look of having a lot of little candles scattered in the middle of rose petals! The movie has the same idea, lots of candles in different places, like in the Phantom’s underground lair where he somehow magically has lit candles rise from water. Because logically, that apparently works. But the candles at your wedding will be magical in their own way! Picture from Madelines Weddings.
Place settings, anybody? Your guests will feel like the lead (and not the page boy) in the opera house when sitting at these settings! I love the glitter in the plates as a homage to the massive and exquisite Swarovski chandelier from the movie. And the single rose is just perfect for this theme. Say what you want about the Phantom, but he has good taste in flowers. Picture from Intertwined Weddings and Events.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE these cupcakes that I found on Pinterest! I can’t post the original link because Pinterest won’t take me to it because the website is spam. If anyone knows where these came from, let me know so I can contact them and tell them I want to sing them the music of the night because these are amazing! After the fur shrug from the Game of Thrones bridal look, this may be one of my favorite things I’ve found for a Style Inspiration! Your guests will be instagramming these all night, I guarantee it.
Oh, and of course, no Phantom wedding is complete without a chandelier cake! I love the simplicity of this. It’s elegant and has so much subtle detail. The all white and off white coloring shows off the innocence of the main character, Christine, and all of the details are similar to the chandelier from the movie! From My Big Day Company, this cake is perfect.
Finally, where are you going to have this wedding? The Jefferson Theater in Charlottesville is too perfect!
Similar to an opera house, the theatre lends itself perfectly to a theme like this! You can arrange the wedding however you’d like! Have your orchestra on the stage and throw your bouquet from off the balcony! As long as you don’t throw it from box 5. That’s the Phantom’s box. These photos are from The Sky Line Tent Blog.
What do you ladies think? Now go watch the movie and cry when Christine sings “Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again” in the graveyard. Or is that just me? Please like below and share this post with your friends!
