Styled shoots are a creative way for photographers, stylists, and other wedding pros, to show off their talent and visions to inspire readers for their own wedding planning.
Today’s shoot features a luxury river resort in The Northern Neck of Virginia at Tides Inn.
A word from the stylists – Riverwood Designs:
“Our inspiration was twofold. First of all, we were inspired by JFK Jr.’s iconic wedding to Carolyn Bissette on Cumberland Island.
That juxtaposition of a Carolina Herrera couture gown and a tiny, seaside chapel really appealed to us and the team.
Hence, the simple gown and classic looks for the groom and general “ East Coast preppy” vibe achieved through the use of blue and white chinoiserie details on the table and oyster shells (we love that high/low contrast).
Our second inspiration came from the colors of sunset on Carter’s Creek. We chose our palette of warm corals with pops of cool ultra violet and lavender to play off of a May Tidewater Virginia sunset”.

The vintage chic vibe juxtaposed with Carter’s Creek as the backdrop is sure to inspire anyone who is dreaming of a beach wedding soiree.
Can we talk about the flowers? The corals, creams and greenery in the floral arrangements is just perfect for a beach themed affair.
Imagine the magic of the bride arriving by boat and greeted by her handsome groom, before saying I do with the creek as their backdrop.
And that vintage mobile bar is just too cute!
