LOVE STORY

Dylan, an adventurous soul and Madyson, a compassionate and driven individual, met in the quaint town of Virgilina, in Halifax County, Virginia. Their friendship blossomed in middle and high school and they became inseparable. However, they pursued different interests after their high school graduations and they gradually drifted apart.

In 2020, the kindred spirits miraculously reconnect during the Christmas holidays and officially became a couple.

PROPOSAL

In August 2024, at Woodside Farm in South Boston, Virginia, Dylan orchestrated a surprise proposal that left Madyson with memories she would cherish forever. Dylan selected this location because Madyson, an avid equestrian, has been boarding her beloved horse, Bentley, at Woodside.

On the day of the proposal, as the sun began to set, Dylan laid out a soft blanket, picnic basket, flowers and a bottle of champagne, which he placed near a tree in the vast farm’s landscape. As Dylan led Madyson toward this spot, he got down on one knee and asked Madyson if she would marry him. She exclaimed, “YES!”

Unbeknownst to Madyson, her brother hid nearby, capturing every second of the proposal on video and snapping pictures to immortalize the event. The moment was even more special as Mr. and Mrs. McDannald, the owners of the farm and dear friends of the couple, appeared and rejoiced with Dylan and Madyson.

Dylan gave Madyson a solitaire-cut diamond just over 1.5 carats with a thin white gold band lined with fourteen smaller diamonds.

To top of the evening, the newly engaged couple headed to Molasses Grill in Halifax, Virginia, for a delicious dinner and to revel in their joy.

VENUE

The setting for Dylan and Madyson’s engagement photography session took place at the spot where Dylan had proposed. The cattle farm backdrop included the rolling hills of South Boston, a lovely pond and Madyson’s beloved horse, Bentley.

ATTIRE

For the photo session, Madyson selected two stunning outfits. For the first half session, she wore long-sleeve olive green off-the-shoulder maxi dress that featured an elegant thigh-high slit. She paired the outfit with chic Ariat ankle boots.

Madyson switched to a stylish khaki-sleeveless sweater vest for a different look. She layered it over a lovely black lace long-sleeve undershirt and flared KanCan jeans and again her Ariat ankle boots.

In the first half of the session, Dylan donned a classic khaki long-sleeve flannel button-up from Old Navy, Wrangler denim jeans and rugged Carolina logger boots.  Dylan changed into an olive green short-sleeve Nautica collared shirt for the second half of the session.
