The story of Jamaal and Alison is a modern-day fairytale that started with a touch of magic in the fall of 2018. At a lively party in Norfolk, Virginia, Jamaal and Alison’s eyes met across the room and time seemed to stand still as they started a conversation. Their paths intertwined as if destiny had orchestrated the stars solely for them. The couple’s connection was genuinely extraordinary from the very beginning.
Fast-forward to their first date a week later. They decided to have dinner at the charming Olive Garden in Norfolk. After enjoying a delightful meal, they strolled over to the Waterside Marina, where they sat by the serene waters of the Elizabeth River. The gleaming city lights cast a mesmerizing glow over the tranquil marina, where the gentle lapping of the water provided a peaceful backdrop for them to deepen their connection.
Their love story blossomed like a rose in spring, and soon enough, Jamaal could not resist asking Alison to be his girlfriend. To his delight, she happily agreed. That moment was even more special for the couple because it was the first time they had uttered those three special words to each other: “I love you.” Alison adores how Jamaal cares for her family and how he makes her smile. Jamaal relishes Alison’s big heart, infectious laughter and mesmerizing eyes. Fairy tales do come true!
PROPOSAL
The 2022 Christmas holiday season kicked off with a heartwarming surprise for Alison as Jamaal proposed to her at the picturesque Anne-Marie Sculpture Gardens & Arts Center in Solomons, Maryland. With the help of their friends and the twinkling Christmas lights, Jamaal orchestrated a clever plan to propose to Alison. As they strolled through the enchanting holiday lights, their friends subtly suggested they take a selfie together, setting the perfect stage for Jamaal to drop down on one knee and ask the life-changing question – “Will you marry me?” Alison joyfully said ‘Yes’ without hesitation after the initial shock. The ring? An exquisite 1.25-carat diamond set in a double halo-twisted white gold band. What a beautiful beginning to their journey together!
PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION
Jamaal and Alison had the most magical engagement photo session at Richmond’s beautiful Maymont Park. Kimberly Jade Forbes Photography perfectly captured their love story against the backdrop of the quaint Japanese Gardens and enchanting Italian Gardens.
Alison channeled serious ’70s vibes in a chic above-the-knee green dress with flowy short sleeves and retro brown chunky heels. She finished off her look with gold jewelry for that extra glam factor. Meanwhile, Jamaal looked sharp in a crisp white button-up, navy dress pants and stylish brown accessories. Both brought unique flair and sophistication to the occasion and they nailed it!
ENGAGEMENT PARTY
Jamaal and Alison’s engagement party in the spring of 2022 was incredible! It was a delightful cookout at their cozy home, surrounded by the warmth of family and friends. The celebration was filled with laughter, love and endless support, making it unforgettable.
