LOVE STORY

Charles and Mashana met during the Covid pandemic in 2021. Despite the challenging circumstances, they connected and enjoyed each other’s company. “The transition from take-out and quarantining to masked outings is an interesting way to start a relationship,” Mashana said. “Even though the pandemic caused many people to feel isolated, The couple were lucky to find each other.”

Charles proposed to Mashana on October 22, 2022, at The Inn at Little Washington in Washington, Virginia. He presented her with a 2.4-carat emerald-cut diamond ring custom-made by Jared at The Galleria of Jewelry in Midlothian.

BACHELOR & BACHELORETTE PARTIES

Charles’ Bachelor Party was a lively affair set against the stunning backdrop of Napa Valley, California. With rolling vineyards and beautiful landscapes, the groom-to-be and his friends embraced the spirit of celebration, indulging in wine tastings and gourmet dining, while creating unforgettable memories.

Mashana’s Bachelorette Party was a tropical escape in the breathtaking Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Surrounded by pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters, the bride-to-be and her squad soaked up the sun danced the nights away and enjoyed the vibrant local culture. Both celebrations captured the essence of fun and friendship as they prepared for the big day ahead!

WEDDING

The couple was married at Dover Hall in Manakin Sabot, Virginia. The venue is a beautiful 38,000-square-foot estate with over 50 acres of land, featuring European touches, a vineyard, and grand architectural designs.

Charles and Mashana wanted a European and timeless feel for the wedding and Dover was the perfect place. “It was the first and only place we toured,” said the bride. “We knew right away it was the one for us!”

The couple embraced a classic and timeless theme for their special day, seamlessly blending it with the enchanting vibe of a Garden Estate. The celebration felt elegant and inviting.

Their color palette was a striking mix of black and white, creating a sophisticated backdrop that highlighted the vibrant touches sprinkled throughout the menu and signage. Each detail was carefully curated, ensuring their guests a cohesive and visually stunning experience.

To tie it all together, the talented Jessica Thompson served as the Day-of Coordinator, orchestrating every moment with finesse. Her expertise helped bring the couple’s vision to life, making their day memorable and magical. It was a celebration filled with love, style, and unforgettable moments!

ATTIRE

Mashana stole the spotlight in her breathtaking bridal gown on a stunning day filled with love and elegance. The dress featured a sophisticated cat-eye neckline that blended seamlessly with a voluminous ballgown skirt, all custom-designed and meticulously altered at Modern Wedding Studio in Thailand. Floral detailing was beautifully added to the bodice to elevate the design, creating a romantic texture that complemented her overall look. Her oversized veil cascaded behind her, adorned with intricate lace at the edges, adding a touch of ethereal charm.

In keeping with the minimalistic theme, Mashana opted for very little jewelry—just pearly earrings that sparkled subtly and her cherished engagement ring, which her wedding band would later join. The delicate scent of Burberry Blush lingered in the air, wrapping her in a fragrant embrace.

For her footwear, she chose kitten heels from Nine West, which were practical and carried “something blue” close to her heart. Her bouquet was a vision of simplicity and elegance, featuring white ranunculus interspersed with fluffy white hydrangeas—perfectly tying in with the bridal aesthetic.

The bridesmaids, in black, floor-length dresses, beautifully complimented Mashana. Each was chosen to reflect their unique style while maintaining a cohesive look. Their bouquets, stunning white calla lilies, were a sophisticated contrast to the sleek gowns.

Tradition found its place in the celebration as both mothers donned exquisite traditional dresses. Mashana’s mother-in-law wore a graceful hanbok, while her mother radiated beauty in a stunning traditional Thai outfit.

And then there was the groom. He dazzled in a custom white tuxedo jacket from Thailand for the ceremony—a truly standout piece. He later switched to a classic black tuxedo jacket for the reception. Adding a personal touch, the bowtie was a thoughtful Christmas gift from Mashana, and his shoes—an elegant pair from Hermès—were lovingly purchased in Paris during their earlymoon.

CEREMONY

The ceremony was held in the venue’s beautiful pool area, which provided a serene and picturesque backdrop for the special day. Brian Thompson officiated the ceremony as the couple exchanged vows, adding a personal touch that made the moment even more memorable. The gentle sounds of water and the glow of twinkling lights created a magical atmosphere for an unforgettable celebration of love. Ninja Strings provided live string music during the ceremony.

As Mashana walked down the aisle, her parents gracefully escorted her, a moment filled with love and anticipation. The air was fragrant with the stunning all-white floral arrangements crafted by her mother, featuring elegant ranunculus, soft roses, majestic hydrangeas and striking calla lilies—each bloom symbolizing the beauty of this special day.

Their wedding vision was perfectly reflected in the thoughtful seating arrangements. The first row on each side was reserved for cherished family members and the wedding party, ensuring that those closest to them had the best view of this heartfelt celebration.

The couple’s love story transcended borders. Guests arrived from far and wide—South Korea and Thailand, as well as friends and family from all corners of the United States—each bringing their unique energy and spirit to the occasion. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement, laughter, and love, making it an unforgettable event for Mashana and her partner.

COCKTAIL HOUR

The cocktail hour was a vibrant celebration on the venue’s first floor, blending indoor elegance with outdoor charm. Guests were treated to a tempting array of canapés that infused bold Korean and Thai flavors, specially curated for Charles and Mashana.

As the evening unfolded, the couple ensured the atmosphere was as delightful as the food. Their thoughtfully selected music playlist added a personal touch, creating a lively soundtrack for guests to enjoy as they mingled, explored the venue, and snapped fun photos at the interactive photo booth. For those looking to unwind, the cigar bar offered a perfect retreat.

Culinary highlights included succulent Thai chicken satay skewers paired with creamy peanut sauce, delectable Korean chive pancakes served with a savory dip, and mouthwatering lamb chops that left everyone craving more.

To complement the exquisite bites, two signature drinks stole the spotlight: the invigorating Thai Chili, a jalapeño margarita with a zesty tajin rim, and the refreshing Changria, a white sangria bursting with the flavors of mangoes, peaches and oranges. It was an unforgettable start to a beautiful evening, leaving everyone excited about what would come!

RECEPTION

The reception occurred in the enchanting Dover Hall ballroom, a perfect backdrop for a night of love and celebration. The same beautiful flowers from the ceremony adorned the space, creating a seamless flow of elegance. Tables were dressed in an extended, airy white cover, accented by striking black candle holders wrapped in delicate white ribbons, casting a warm and inviting glow throughout the room.

As the festivities began, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement. The couple’s parents made their grand entrance, gracefully descending the stairs. The wedding party followed them, and finally, the stars of the evening—the couple themselves—radiated joy as they shared their first moments as newlyweds.

When it came time for the couple’s first dance, they took to the floor, swaying to the heartfelt melodies of Taylor Swift’s “Lover.” It was a beautiful moment filled with emotion and promise.

Following that, the dance floor became a haven of cherished family traditions. The father-daughter duo touched hearts as they danced to a moving Thai song by Boyd Kosiyabong, capturing their love and connection. Meanwhile, the mother-son dance captivated everyone as the pair gracefully moved to a soulful Korean song by Crush, celebrating their bond and memories made.

CAKE

Charles and Mashana’s cake was a two-tier monochromatic Lambeth-style cake. One tier was chocolate with raspberry glaze and the second was red velvet.

HONEYMOON

A few months before their wedding, the newlyweds enjoyed a three-week early-moon in Northern Europe. They are planning another trip to New Orleans and the Caribbean in January 2025.
