Virginia Bride Magazine hosted the 16th annual Roanoke Greater Virginia Bridal Show on Sunday at The Berglund Center.

Hundreds of couples attended to meet with and see the local wedding vendors on display.

The highlight of the show was the Dream Wedding that couples could enter to win at the show with a value of over $30,000.

Shortly before 5:00 P.M. before the show ended, Virginia Bride’s Publisher, Angeline Frame called the dream wedding sponsors to the stage to introduce them one by one before she randomly drew the winner from the entries.

As the audience held their breath, Ms. Frame created dramatic anticipation as first she said what city the person was from, Roanoke, then she called out not a bride’s name, but Michael, the groom, who had entered the giveaway that day.

Allison, his bride to be had to work that day and could not attend but he volunteered to attend the show and bring his mother along to help him gather information he could take back to Allison.

Imagine his shock and surprise when his name was called!

He did reach Allison at work and told her the happy news while on stage.

Michael is pictured in center holding the gift box full of the certificates, surrounded by the local wedding dream sponsors including Amanda’s Touch Bridal, Focus on the Moment Photography, Bella Bride Designs, Exceptional Events by Elisa, Jolina Does Makeup, A Party’s Favorite Entertainment, All for You Events and Design, GiGi’s Cupcakes and Virginia Bride Magazine Publisher. Not pictured Belle Garden Estate and Little Otter Flower Farm.

Below are photos of when Michael, ever the romantic, proposed to Allison at Disney.

Congratulations to this lucky couple!

See what they won.
