Real Wedding Wednesday: Amber and Kyle

Hello, fellow wedding lovers! Today I have a beautiful November wedding to show you that took place at the Winterham Plantation in Amelia, VA!

After getting ready for the big day with her best gals (love the bridesmaids’ dresses), Bride Amber went out to meet her groom, Kyle, for their first look!

“We did a first look because we wanted a special moment that was ours and ours alone. We’ll never regret taking that time to have a quiet moment together and get rid of our jitters,” Amber recalled.

Her hair cascaded perfectly over her beaded gown. Kyle was, of course, in awe!

Amber and Kyle met while they were both in school at ODU. After the summer of her Freshman year and his Junior year, their roommates had devised a plan to introduce them with a fun day at the bay.

Later on, that spot at the bay would mark where they had made their relationship official as boyfriend and girlfriend and then eventually, Kyle proposed there!

Next, it was time for the ceremony! Amber thought of every adorable detail like these blankets and…

…these signs that Kyle stained the wood for and she hand lettered! Very impressive!

With her father by her side, she headed on into the next big stage of her life!

They said their own unique vows and were pronounced man and wife!

The tented reception was also filled with the couple’s handy work! Amber described it as, “A little bit rustic, a little bit whimsical, and a little bit cozy!” Love it!

With eyes on one another, they danced the night away!

Congratulations Kyle and Amber!

From the Bride:

What was your favorite detail of the day? “Our personalized vows! We kept them a secret from each other until we were at the altar and loved sharing them with each other and all our guests. Also, my Great Aunt made our cakes. She’s made wedding cakes for almost everyone in our family for decades.”
What advice would you give to a bride to be? “Ask for help! Delegate planning tasks to people that offer to help you. Even better – hire an event coordinator. Planning an entire wedding yourself can be stressful, so spread the responsibilities.”
