Micro-Wedding: Cape Charles Tiny Livin

Virginia Bride features weddings weekly here on the blog. Being featured in the blog does not necessarily mean they are featured in the print magazine.

A micro-wedding-styled photography shoot was held on August 26, 2023, at Cape Charles Tiny Livin in Cape Charles, Virginia.

The Tiny Livin Village is conveniently located in the intimate beach town of Cape Charles on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. It is 3 drive minutes from downtown Cape Charles and is nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay.

The venue owners, Eric and Sylvia Hawkins, collaborated with the photographer, Kristin Lorraine, to bring the intimate photo shoot to life.

Being new to the area and wanting to establish relationships with vendors, I was delighted to partner with Eric and Sylvia,” said Kristin. “I served as the event’s creative director and photographer.”

“The fundamental motivation behind the shoot was to create awareness of this hidden gem,” Kristin said. “We wanted to showcase what an excellent choice this venue is for couples planning a micro-wedding.”

The venue is a beautiful 4-acre property with 10 handcrafted tiny homes designed for adventurers, micro-wedding throwers, and road trippers,” said Eric. “My wife, Sylvia, decorated each tiny house and our whimsical greenhouse for wedding ceremonies.”

“If you are looking for a picturesque backdrop for your micro-wedding, look no further,” Sylvia said. “We are here to help plan your wedding in our greenhouse.” “You will be surrounded by lush greenery and natural light, creating a beautiful and cozy atmosphere for you and your guests.” “With our tiny house rentals, you can create a unique and unforgettable wedding experience in our stunning coastal setting.”

“In the 1930s through 1970s, the property was a thriving business with a gas station, a restaurant, and 14 tiny houses,” said Eric. “In April of 2021, after 40 years of abandonment, we modernized most of the tiny houses.” “We have taken something old and made something new.” “This is a dream come true for us.” “Sylvia and I transitioned to a tiny home lifestyle over 16 years ago, long before it was fashionable.”

“Initially, we created the Village only as an Airbnb, but with the onset of COVID-19, we knew adding a micro-wedding option was not only a great business decision but one we had a great passion for,” Eric said.

The models for the shoot were Marquita Bianca Brown and Charles Brown II. “We selected this couple because they had responded to a micro-wedding give-a-way we offered in 2023,” Eric said.
