Real Wedding Wednesday: Mike and Ashely

Today’s Bride and Groom were actually high school sweethearts! They met Freshman year but began dating their senior year! Mike and Ashley dated throughout college and today we will look back on their gorgeous wedding day that took place last October at the Inn at Vint Hill in Warrenton, VA.
Ashley looked stunning in her sweetheart neckline, full-skirted wedding gown!
Her maids wore baby blue dresses and they all carried the prettiest bouquets of white flowers and eucalyptus. Next, it was time for Ashley to see Mike for their first look!
She knew their big day would fly by and took full advantage of their first look…”We chose to write letters and read them to each other during, which will always be the sweetest memory,” she recalled. Ashley, that is the best idea!
How cute are they?!
To the tune of “Be Thou My Vision,” Ashley’s father walked her down the aisle.
Under a wooden cross that they made together, Ashely and Mike began their futures by first washing each other’s feet.

What a humble and beautiful way to begin a marriage.

Then, with a big smooch, they were husband and wife!
When the time came for the reception, guests were in awe! Their decor was tastefully stunning!
And, just when you thought it couldn’t get any better…they had a Duck Donuts wall! Yummm!
Congrats Mike and Ashley!
From the bride:
What was your favorite detail of the day? “My favorite detail of the day was the handmade wooden cross that my husband and I built together during our engagement. We love to work on projects together and decided to build a cross as the centerpiece for our ceremony. It was so special to say our vows to each other while standing at the cross we hand built together.”
What advice would you give to a bride to be? “My advice is to really make your wedding meaningful to you. Incorporate your own style into your wedding whether that be the venue, the decor, or even the ceremony. Make it YOU!”
